About Hannon House

Immerse yourself in the beauty of Hannon House, nestled on the banks of a scenic river beneath the expansive sky. This charming farmhouse, designed in the timeless style of rural Montana, embodies the character and unique essence of this rare piece of history. If you yearn for a taste of old Montana, look no further. Dating back to 1900, the main house holds the rich heritage of being the region’s original mercantile and post office. Surrounded by the majestic Bitterroot and Sapphire mountains, and positioned along the historic Lewis and Clark Trail (yes, they once walked through our very yard), Hannon House resides in the enchanting shadow of Trapper Peak, the highest summit in the Bitterroot Range. Situated at the confluence of the East Fork, West Fork, and Main Branch of the Bitterroot River, this extraordinary site offers the perfect balance of tranquility and adventure. Delight in the old Montana experience, mere steps away from one of the finest native trout streams in the entire Western region. As a working farm, we proudly cultivate irrigated hay and an assortment of garden crops, allowing you to witness the authentic essence of Montana’s agricultural heritage.
